Local moves, long distance and specialty work

A local apartment move, an interstate relocation and a piano move are three different sales. Local moves are price-shopped and booked within days; long-distance moves carry higher tickets and longer decisions; specialty moves (pianos, seniors, offices) are won on expertise. Give each its own campaign or ad group and its own landing page.

For long-distance work, target the origin market: people search from where they live now. Keywords that combine your city with destination states or cities capture high-value interstate jobs.

Interstate movers must show their USDOT number

Federal rules cover mover advertising. Under 49 CFR 375.207, interstate household goods movers must include their name and their U.S. DOT number, in the form "U.S. DOT No." followed by the number, in every advertisement. The definition of advertisement in 49 CFR 375.103 explicitly includes listings in online databases and on Internet websites.

Put the number in your landing page header or footer and on every quote. It is a compliance requirement and, for customers wary of moving scams, proof that you are a registered carrier.

What the keyword data shows

"movers cost" brings 1K to 10K searches at $4.64 to $16.41: price research that converts with a page explaining hourly rates, crew sizes and what changes the quote. "movers company" is small (100 to 1K) but reaches $45.00. "local movers" is labeled Low competition and still reaches $32.11, which shows how much each booked move is worth to the movers bidding on it.

Local Services Ads for movers

Moving services is a Local Services Ads category in the US. You pay per lead, and screened businesses carry the Google Verified badge. LSA handles many local inquiries well; keep Search for long-distance and specialty campaigns, where your quote form, inventory questions and reviews make the difference.

Seasonality and speed to quote

Demand peaks in summer and at month ends, when leases turn over. Plan budgets by month, raise caps from late spring, and use quieter months for off-peak offers. Whatever the season, the first mover to call back usually wins: route form leads to a phone within minutes and track booked moves, not just quote requests, as your main conversion.
