Service calls, panel upgrades and EV chargers
Electrical demand splits three ways. Service calls (dead outlets, a breaker that keeps tripping) are urgent and phone-driven. Panel upgrades are planned, often triggered by a home inspection, an insurance request or a new appliance. EV charger installs are a growing project category where buyers compare quotes and ask about amperage. Each deserves its own campaign or at least its own budget, so a busy week of service calls never starves the higher-ticket work.
Send each group to a page that answers its own question: response time for service calls, permit handling and panel sizes for upgrades, supported charger brands and typical install scope for EV work.
Advertise only the work your license covers
State licensing boards police contractor advertising. California's Contractors State License Board requires the license number in all forms of advertising, including websites, and bars contractors from advertising work outside their classification: a C-29 masonry contractor, for example, cannot advertise electrical work without also holding a C-10 electrical license. Other states have their own rules, so check yours before launch.
Electricians are also a Local Services Ads category in the US. Passing Google's screening earns the Google Verified badge and pay-per-lead placement, which pairs well with a Search campaign focused on panels and EV chargers.
What the keyword data tells you
"local electrician" brings 10K to 100K searches with bids up to $50.00, almost as expensive as the near-me query. "best electrician" is small (100 to 1K) but reaches $42.74, a reminder that searchers who look for the best are often ready to hire and will read your reviews first. "electrician company" (1K to 10K, up to $35.06) attracts property managers and small businesses as well as homeowners, so add a commercial ad group if you serve them.
Tracking value, not just leads
A $150 outlet repair and a $4,000 panel upgrade should not count as the same conversion. Assign values by job type, capture the GCLID in your CRM and upload closed jobs as offline conversions so Smart Bidding favors the work that pays.
This is how value-based accounts improve: on a French electrical account managed by Discovery Digitals, value tracking produced a 3.0x ROAS, €40,200 in conversion value for €13,600 in ad spend.
