How to reply to a positive review: templates
Reply to a positive review within a week, in two to four sentences: thank the customer by name, mention one specific detail from their review, and close with a natural invitation to come back. A personal reply shows future customers that a real person reads reviews, while the same "Thanks!" under every review shows the opposite.

Tips to make it work.
- Quote one real detail from the review. That's what separates a reply someone wrote from a canned one.
- Sign with a first name and role. "Maria, owner" builds more trust than an anonymous reply.
- Mention your service or city once if it fits naturally ("our Austin shop"), never as a string of keywords.
- Reply within a week. Google encourages businesses to respond to reviews, and the reply date is visible to everyone.
- Keep five or six different openers on hand and rotate them so replies never look copy-pasted.
Mistakes to avoid.
- Pasting the same reply under every review, which anyone scrolling your profile will notice.
- Keyword stuffing ("best cheap plumber Dallas TX"), which reads as spam to customers.
- Revealing details the customer didn't share publicly. If you're a healthcare provider, even confirming someone is a patient can be a HIPAA problem: HHS settled with a Dallas dental practice for $10,000 over patient information disclosed in Yelp review replies.
- Adding a promo code or sales link, which turns a thank-you into an ad.
- Only replying to negative reviews, which signals that happy customers don't matter.
